More About Iced Coffee With Ice Cream

Iced coffee is iced coffee that has been iced. Well, not entirely, but it’s sort of like iced tea where hot brewed coffee is poured over ice to cool it off and make it fresh for drinking. It’s easy to make iced coffee in the summer when you’re in a hurry or don’t want to stand around waiting for your drink to slowly drip through the machine!
To make iced coffee with ice cream, brew your favorite cup of iced coffee, then place 1-2 scoops of your favorite ice cream into the cup. Coffee flavored whipped cream would also go well with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy this sweet pick-me-up on a hot day when you are feeling the heat.

Instructions:
- Brew a cup of coffee and chill it in the fridge for several hours. The colder the coffee goes into the serving glass, the less ice you will need to add to get your drink cold.
- Suppose you do not have time to brew a whole pot of coffee and let it chill overnight. Place 1/4 cup of ground coffee in a paper filter inside your drip machine’s basket so that when you run hot water through it to remove any leftover grounds from yesterday’s brew. Some fresh coffee can be added to your new batch!
- Once your iced coffee has chilled thoroughly in the refrigerator, begin preparing another cup in your usual way or with pre-ground beans.
- Brew this iced coffee hot, but pour it over a cup filled with ice cubes. This will immediately cool down the iced coffee without thoroughly watering it down.
- While your iced coffee is chilling in the fridge, make your favorite flavor of ice cream!
- For iced coffee with vanilla ice cream, you will use 1-2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, depending on how sweet you want your drink.
- The standard scoop size is 2 tbsp, and most bar spoons are 1/2 tbsp so if you’re using 2 scoops of iced coffee, use 4 tbsp of ice cream for this recipe!
- Place 1-2 scoops of favorite ice cream into the serving glass.
- Adding whipped cream on top of the ice cream is optional, but it will add an iced coffee with an ice cream taste to your drink!
- Serve your iced coffee in a tall glass and enjoy it while it’s still cold!

Frequently Asked Questions:
Is This Recipe Healthy?
Iced coffee with ice cream is a fresh take on dessert! It’s better for you than something loaded with sugar, chocolate, whipped cream, and other fatty ingredients typically found in desserts. If weight gain is your concern when it comes to ice cream, I’d recommend sticking to plain or vanilla-flavored ice cream because they are lighter than their fattier cousins like chocolate chip or cookie dough. The amount of sugar in the recipe can also be adjusted by using less sugar, but try not to go overboard because too little sugar will make your drink taste watered down!
Can I Use Flavored Coffee Instead Of Regular?
If you have a favorite flavored coffee that you want to use, go for it! You can even add some chocolate or caramel syrup if you’re going to turn this recipe into an adult pick me up. If the flavor is robust, I would recommend using 1/2 cup of flavored coffee and 1 cup of regular black coffee, so your drink isn’t too sweet with only ice cream as its base.
What Other Flavors Can I Use?
This recipe is a great place to experiment with different flavors. Everyone has their taste preferences for drinks and food in general, so mix and match ingredients until you find a mix that suits your palette! All sorts of iced coffee drinks can be created using this recipe as a base, like iced mocha (hot chocolate + iced coffee) or iced vanilla latte (vanilla ice cream + ground cinnamon + iced coffee).
How Long Will The Drink Last?
Iced coffee with ice cream is best enjoyed right away because the ingredients will separate over time, and the ice cream will melt into your drink, turning it into regular iced coffee. You can also pour yourself another glass once you’re done! If you’re serving this to guests, I recommend doubling or even tripling the recipe, so there’s enough for everyone to enjoy!
Why Is My Iced Coffee Tasting Too Watered Down?
If you’re finding that your drink is becoming too diluted as you’re drinking it, try not to add as much milk or cream next time. Another mistake that people make is adding the ice cubes before the brewed coffee because this will melt all of your ice cubes at once! Instead, try to use more ice cubes, so they’re brewing up against each other and taking longer to melt into the drink
